Capsicum Tamarind Curry |
Capsicum tamarind curry is very easy and tasty recipe. It is good side dish for white rice,curd rice and also for tiffin items like dosa, chappati.
Ingredients:
Capsicum - 2 nos (medium size)
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Jeera/Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 2 tblsp
For Grinding:
Coconut Scraped - 3tblsp
Roasted Gram / pottu kadalai - 2tblsp
Tamarind - small Gooseberry size (or) to taste
Garlic - 3 cloves
Dry Red Chillies - 2 nos
Water - to grind
Method :
Get start with grinding...
1. Grind all the ingredients under For grinding like a smooth paste.
2. Now heat the pan along with 2 tblsp of oil.When oil gets heat add cumin seeds allow to splutter.
3. when it splutters add cutted capsicum and for fry for about 3 mins.
4. Now add turmeric powder,and half quantity of salt at this stage and cook till it gets soft.
5. When it half cooked add grounded paste, and mix well.
6. After mixing add chilli powder, garam masala, reqiured salt.Stir well and close with a lid and allow it get cook.
7. After 3 mins you can note that curry will leave oil from sides. Now this is the consistency to switch off the heat.
8. The mouth watering capsicum curry is ready to serve and taste...
9. Serve it with combination you like. Here i served with plain rice.
NOTES:
- You can soak tamarind in little water for about 10 mins to grind the paste easyily. In urgency i forgot to soak tamarind. Don't discard the soaked water because you can use it for grinding.
- Here i have given appox measure of coconut, if u want to add litte more u can.
- Even u can less the oil amount, i like to add liberal amount of oil in all my dishes.
