This is one of the tasty &
yummy chat food in road side shops around Salem district. I used to prepare this
at least once in a month in home. If u buy a ready made thattu vadai
, making this set would be very easy and quick. This is a very healthy , perfect
for evening snack. U can also use
murukku or bread slices to prepare this chat item following same steps which I given
here.
INGREDIENTS:
1 packet thattu vadai
Carrot – 2-3 grated
Beetroot – 1 med size grated
Coriander leaves -
finely chopped
Onion – 2 no.finely chopped
INGREDIENTS :
FOR GREEN CHUTNEY :
Mint leaves - 1/4 cup
Coriander leaves – 1/4 cup
Green chillies – 1 – 2 nos
few drops of lime juice
Jeera – ¼ tsp
Salt – to taste
FOR RED CHUTNEY :
Onion – 1 med roughly chopped
Tomato – 2 no. roughly chopped
Tamarind – Small gooseberry size
Red chilly – 5 nos
Salt – to taste
Water – As required.
Garlic – 2-3 cloves
Method :
For chutney’s:
Heat oil in a tawa and saute all the ingredients
together for 2-3 min’s, keep it cool & grind to make a thick paste . prepare the both chutney’s using
above step.
For filling:
Mix all the grated carrot, beetroot, onion and coriander
leaves together.
Take 2 thattu vadai for one set.
Apply green chutney on one side of
one thattu vadai and red chutney on one
side of another thattu vadai.
Fill the mixed vegetables on one
thattu vadai, and keep the next one on it, like what we do for sandwich.
